Call Us Today!

At Scarmazzi Homes, building community has always meant more than building homes. It means investing in the places where we live, work, raise our families, and come together. That’s why we’re proud to announce a landmark 15-year commitment to the Canon Theatre, becoming the theatre’s founding naming sponsor.

Located on the former Canonsburg Middle School campus, the Canon Theatre is transforming the historic 1931 auditorium into a premier performing arts and community venue. Once complete, it will welcome live performances, community events, educational programming, and cultural experiences for Canonsburg and the surrounding region.

An Investment in Our Hometown

For Scarmazzi Homes owners Paul & Lisa Scarmazzi, the commitment is especially meaningful. As lifelong Canonsburg residents, supporting the Canon Theatre is an opportunity to give back to the community that has been home to the Scarmazzi family and Scarmazzi Homes for generations.

“My wife and I love our hometown, and supporting the Canon Theatre is simply our way of giving back to the community,” said Paul Scarmazzi. “When we considered this opportunity, we saw it as an investment not only in a theatre, but in the future of Canonsburg.”

The Canon Theatre is envisioned as much more than a place to see a performance. It will create a new gathering place for the community while helping attract visitors, support local businesses, and contribute to the continued growth and vitality of Canonsburg.

Building More Than Homes

For over twenty-five years, Scarmazzi Homes has been part of the Canonsburg community. While our work has grown throughout the Pittsburgh region, our roots remain here.

We believe thriving communities are built through strong neighborhoods, local businesses, meaningful gathering places, and opportunities that bring people together. Supporting the Canon Theatre reflects that same belief.

“We believe the Canon Theatre will become a source of pride for our region, support local businesses, attract new visitors, and help ensure that Canonsburg continues to grow as a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family,” Paul Scarmazzi said.

The theatre is also expected to make a significant economic contribution to the region. According to a feasibility study commissioned by the Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute (CECI), the Canon Theatre is projected to generate approximately $13.8 million in economic impact during its first full year of operation and nearly $250 million over the next two decades.

Looking Ahead for the Canon Theatre

The Canon Theatre represents the first major milestone in CECI’s broader vision to transform the former middle school campus into a destination centered around arts, education, health and wellness, and community engagement.

As the project moves closer to its anticipated opening in fall 2026, we’re excited to play a role in bringing that vision to life. Most importantly, we’re proud to invest in something that will belong to the entire community and create opportunities for people to gather, connect, learn, and enjoy Canonsburg for generations to come.
